Jesus Christ, The Acceptable Sacrifice
There was no object, no animal, no man, woman or child who was able to take on the sins of the world. God searched for that perfection in a person, who would be able to be an acceptable sacrifice; He was able to find none. So in His perfect love, He wrapped Himself in human flesh, humbled Himself and walked among His creation. Jesus Christ was that acceptable sacrifice, for He was perfect; even though He was tempted in every way that we are tempted, He did not sin. But being that He was perfect and did not sin, He still bore our sins so we can be redeemed and forgiven; brought back to a right relationship with the Father. Let us not look at the name of God, "Jehovah Jireh", as just "the Lord our provider", in a sense of material things. This name means much more; the Lord God provided a sacrifice, a substitute to take our place. That sacrifice provided by God was Jesus Christ, the spotless Lamb who died for the sins of the world. So the next time you hear, "Jehovah Jireh", think of Jesus Christ who was the sacrifice God provided who took our place, bore our sins, and took the wrath of God on Himself. That day, Christ was alone, battered, and shamed; He did all this because of His perfect love for you so you can be redeemed. Call to Him, and know the love, and transforming power of the Lord Jesus Christ. Peace and grace be with you all.
