Tear Stained Pillows
There are many, many languages and many different practices across this world, but like laughter, the shedding of tears is universal. Expressions of joy and deep sadness brought on by acts of kindness, pain, acts of violence or a number of other things. Where there are no words, tears come to give an outward interpretation of inward feelings. I saw a little girl the other day, she must have been two or three-years-old. Her mom gave her an orange push-pop sickle, the child looked and smiled, and sat there enjoying her sickle. I felt joy to see her so happy, but my heart broke because all over this world there are precious children, just like her, that are growing up in an evil world where there is an enemy that is determined to destroy her. I asked, "Will there be anybody in her life that will tell her of Jesus Christ?". I saw a video of a dad and his four-year-old son. The dad, holding the boy, was trying to give him some milk, but the boy's throat was so swollen that he could not swallow, and it just poured down his cheeks. Tear stained pillows should be on every Christ followers bed; tears for the lost souls, the hurting children, and battered brothers and sisters in Christ. But let us remember my dearly beloved brothers and sisters, there is coming a day when Jesus Christ Himself will whip those tears away. Allow me to quote an old hymn, "What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon His face, the one who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand, and leads me through the promised land. What a day, glorious day, that will be". I love you all. Peace and grace be with each and every one of you.
