Draw Close to The Father

I am sure that many of you have looked up as the sun was setting and noticed the beauty of the colorful sky. A magnificent and radiant masterpiece painted by God using sun and wind; however, with all it's beauty, it is quickly gone. Like the painted clouds, so too is our lives; "What is life? It is a vapor that is here for a little while, then quickly vanishes" (James 4:14). A beautiful and glorious life for only a season of time, and then, it is gone. While we are here, let us love God, and love one another. Let us draw closer to God everyday, for it is written, "Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you"(James 4:8). This is not a "Please do this" request, but a command. Turn from vain repetitions and ritualistic practices, and draw near to God, seeking His face daily. Then comes the promise, God will draw near to you. There is no longer this vast gulf that separates us from God, for that was bridged by Jesus Christ. When we draw close to God, He will not condemn us, reject us, ridicule us, or cast us away from Him, but He will draw close to us. Granted, God corrects and disciplines those He loves, but there is no sweeter love than the love of the Father. Run to the Father, for He will meet you when you do. May His love surround you and His peace be with you all.
